The University of Texas at Austin’s Game and Mobile Media Applications (GAMMA) Program is pleased to announce Brett Close, SVP of Engineering and General Manager at Wargaming.net, as a new member of its GAMMA Executive Board.
Close, a software development professional for almost thirty years, has been a part of Wargaming—an international game developer and publisher—since 2013. In his current role as SVP of Engineering & General Manager, Close oversees the Austin office, which houses business intelligence, global design services, and game development teams.
“I’ve always been passionate about education, and the GAMMA Program is impressive in its approach,” said Close. “I’m honored to be a part of this effort, and excited about the positive impacts we can have on opportunities for graduates, and the industry overall.”

The Game and Mobile Media Applications (GAMMA) Program at the University of Texas at Austin is an interdisciplinary undergraduate certificate program between the College of Fine Arts, Computer Science Department, and Radio-Television-Film Department. The program produces graduates ready to design, develop, and provide leadership for the exploding growth in game, mobile app, and creative media agencies and studios in Texas and around the world.
